community summer camp-ages 5-12

Summer Day Camp is a great way for your children to stay active in the summer months with organized activities.  This summer the Brooklyn Recreation Department, St. Thomas More, and Brooklyn City Schools have partnered to offer a camp that will promote a full day of student enrichment, education and healthy active lifestyles.

SPORT COURT HOURS

June 1 - August 31 weather permitting: 
8:00am-Noon - Open to the Public
Noon-4:00pm - Residents only with one guest
From Noon-4:00pm all residents must stop at the Recreation Center, show proof of residency with your current Rec Center ID card, and receive a wristband for the day.  If you bring a guest, the guest must accompany you to the Recreation Center and pay 42.00 to enter the courts.
No one will be allowed to enter the Sport Court without a wristband after Noon. 

FIELD HOUSE

Join us at the John M Coyne Recreation Center for sports play in our Summer Field House.  We are opening the doors to the public in June and July when the ice is down, so residents of Brooklyn and pass holders of our facility can take part in basketball, pickleball, soccer, volleyball, cornhole, and other activities.  We will have limited equipment available so you are welcome to bring your own basketball, volleyball, or soccer ball.
Dates:  June 1-July 31
Hours of Operation:  Monday-Friday 9:00am-8:00pm, Saturday-Sunday 10:00am-4:00pm.
Cost:  Recreation Center Pass Holders FREE, Senior Residents FREE, children under 5 FREE, Residents with Recreation Center ID card:  Student/Youth $2.00, Resident, Adult $3.00
Sports not accommodated:  Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Golf

Court#1:  Basketball (No full court play -drop-in shoot around and 3v3 games only)
Court #2: Open Play (Gym Activities)
Court #3: Pickleball (2 courts lined)

*Children under age 11 must be accompanied by an adult
*All Non-Pass Holders must have a Brooklyn Recreation Center ID card for entrance
*ID required to have equipment

t-ball (ages 3-4) rookie coach pitch (age 5-6)

The Brooklyn Recreation Department has partnered with Jump Start Sports to offer T-Ball and rookie Coach Pitch Baseball for the Sumer of 2020.  All sessions will be held at Brooklyn Recreation Center fields.

SRSL SPRING SOCCER

Ages (9-15)

SRSL 11U/ 13U/ 15U Boys and Girls REC League

Registration Fees:  Resident $60/ Non-Resident $65

Registration:  February 1 thru March 1

Session Dates:  March 16-May 16.  

Practices begin late March and games in April (6 games) REC travel leagues will hold practices in Brooklyn and games will be played at both home and away sites on Saturdays.  SRSL teams will be split by gender if numbers permit.

Registration:  February 1 thru March 1

Session Dates:  April 4 thru May 23 (Saturdays 9:00am-12:00pm)

Practices and games begin in April.  Mini Canes In-House Instructional Leagues will play all games and practices at Brooklyn fields.   This program is clinical by nature and will include games as the season progresses. 


Residents: $60.00

Non-Residents: $65.00

Partnership: $62.50

Friday Night Basketball

Resident students in grades three through eight are invited to participate in this winter's basketball program.  Registration will be held at the Brooklyn Recreation Center in December with the program starting in January. Please call 216-635-4274 for further information.  

Open to Residents in grades 1 - 6 

Cost: $35

Session Dates:

Times: Group 1 (grades 2 & 3) 6 - 7 p.m.   Group 2 (Buddy Basketball) 7 - 8 p.m.  Group 3 (grades 4 - 6) 7 -8 p.m.

Location: Brooklyn Field House (east side)


youth baseball/soccer team sponsorship

The Brooklyn Recreation Department is inviting local businesses to participate in the City of Brooklyn's Youth Sports Sponsorship Program.  For a small sponsorship fee of $225.00, the name of your business will be featured on a youth uniform shirt.  This is a great way to promote your business and support activities for the youth of our community.  Call 216-351-5334 to obtain a sponsorship form.  

   

GIRLS YOUTH VOLLEYBALL PROGRAM

Youth volleyball is a new program for players in grades 3-6.  Teams will practice once during the week and games will be played on Saturdays.   Practices to be held at Brooklyn City School facilities and games to be played at home and away sites on Saturdays.  Volunteer coaches manage teams so let us know at registration if you are interested in coaching. 

Free Preseason Clinic

Saturday, February 22 at 9:00am-11:00am Brooklyn School Field House.   Join us for a preseason clinic run by Brooklyn High School and Middle School coaches.   Be sure to register by February 15.
