Biography
Kathleen is currently serving in her sixth term on Brooklyn City Council. Prior to serving on Council, Kathleen’s background was in the private sector, working for LTV Steel. Currently, she works for Cuyahoga County Public Library. Having experience in both the private sector and the public sector gives her a unique perspective.
Kathleen has a long history of civic involvement and dedication to our community. Prior to being elected to City Council, she served on the Board of Zoning Appeals for five years, three of them as chairperson, on the Veterans Memorial Park Redevelopment Committee, and as Secretary of the Brooklyn Community Preschool/Childcare Committee. Kathleen was also an officer and on the Executive Board of the Brooklyn Early Childhood PTA.
Kathleen has served on and chaired all council committees and has also served as Council President and President Pro Tem. Through her education and experience, Kathleen has an in-depth knowledge of municipal operations and municipal finance. What she finds most gratifying is assisting residents with questions or complaints.
Kathleen and her husband Frank have been married for thirty-six years and are the proud parents of three sons: Frank is a neurosurgeon, Michael is an attorney and Kevin is in restaurant management.
